Amy Beeman
Prior to joining The Beat 94.5, Amy was the co-host of the Morning Show on 101.3 Hits FM in her hometown of Prince George. Always in search of challenging and new experiences, Amy has lived in Pennsylvania, worked as a nanny in London, England, completed an internship with Dateline NBC in NYC, and has bounced around everywhere in between.
Amy’s wide range of interests and pursuits include attending theatre and musical productions (thanks to years of dance lessons!), adventurous activities such as skydiving, scuba diving, running half marathons and backpacking around the world. Making sure not to sound too overly ambitious, you may just as easily find Amy relaxing on the couch, watching TV reruns and crying at hallmark commercials.
Amy hasn’t had much time to relax on the couch since the arrival of her twins, Lucy and Samuel in July of 2010. And if the twins don’t keep her busy enough, Amy and her husband Mark are in the midst of an adoption from Ethiopia. Follow all of their adventures on Amy Beeman’s Baby Blog
Volunteering is one of Amy’s passions and she’s been involved with Big Brothers of Vancouver, Salvation Army, Cinderella Project, Once Upon a Cure Gala, SPCA, Weekend to End Women’s Cancers, Underwear Affair and World Vision, among others.
Although Amy has had many ‘I can’t believe I’m getting paid to do this’ moments in her radio career to date, the ones remembered most fondly are those that involve working within the community and helping people in need. A cold Prince George morning spent atop the Coast Inn of the North for the Salvation Army’s Tree of Lights Campaign and the annual The Beat Cares event are two of her favorites.
